I am Abigail Buchholz, a Validation Associate here at CAF America. My responsibilities include the evaluation of grantee organization’s applications. I then help them through the application process, ensuring their eligibility with CAF America.
Before joining the CAF America team, I interned at the Tanzania Chamber of Commerce Ireland in Dublin. During my tenure at the Chamber, I collaborated with European and Tanzanian partners to produce branded content for various social media platforms. I also laid the groundwork for Chamber-sponsored initiatives, including pop-up shops and virtual training sessions.
I received my BA in Political Science with a minor in Data Science from the University of Mary Washington. My primary focus during this time was the American election system and the relationship between media and politics. I later received my MSc in Public Policy from Dublin City University, which afforded me the valuable opportunity to draft policy plans for the Dublin City Council.
In my leisure time, I enjoy reading, with my favorite author being Sally Rooney. I am passionate about traveling and enjoy meticulously planning for my next adventures. With twenty countries already under my belt, I am eagerly looking forward to visiting Iceland in the coming year.
