Miami is a hub for philanthropic giving by high-net worth international residents to charities around Latin America. However, despite a will to build long lasting impact through philanthropy, there are multiple barriers to effective cross-border giving. Wealth Advisors can play a significant role in breaking down these barriers for individuals looking to navigate the complex environment of cross-border giving, but based on our survey of STEP Miami members and interviews with key advisors and charities in Latin America, they are unprepared to do so.
