These animals serve as a strong indicator for humanitys negligent behavior towards our beaches, oceans, and environment as a GRANT AMOUNT: whole. $3,000The Sustainable Coastlines, located in New Zealand, was established to SDG FOCUS AREAS: combat the growing pollution of our shores and oceans, and prevent Climate Actionfurther casualties. To fulfill their mission, they organize beach clean-(SDG 13) ups, tree plantings, and host educational programs in hope to create Life Below Waterambassadors that will carry the cause further. In a single event, (SDG 14) Sustainable Coastlines collaborated with over 160 volunteers and collected approximately 2,000 liters of trash in Piha Beach, Auckland; 70% of which is plastic often found in seabirds and marine mammals.Since 2008, Sustainable Coastlines has collected over 1.5 million liters of trash but their main challenge continues to be raising awareness about the issue and expanding their projects beyond the beaches of New Zealand.cafamerica.orgPAGE23'
