Contribution Policies
Thank you for your contribution to Charities Aid Foundation America (CAF America). CAF America is a 501(c)3 public charity (EIN 43-1634280), and you will receive a tax receipt for your contribution. Friends Funds & Restricted Gifts
- When CAF America receives a donation, we believe it was the donor’s full intention to support the charitable activities of CAF America. All donations to CAF America are made without benefit to the donor.
- In instances where the donor receives a benefit tied to the donation made , the details must be disclosed to CAF America by either the donor or charity partner, and a partial tax receipt is issued that discounts the fair market value of benefits received from the deductible donation amount.
- Once CAF America has accepted the donation, it retains full discretion and control over all donated funds. All grants made by CAF America with the contributions that we receive are in our sole and independent discretion.
- Donors are urged to consider carefully their decision to make a donation. Because CAF America puts donations to work quickly, we do not offer donors refunds on any donations. Contributions to CAF America are irrevocable and cannot be refunded to the donor.
Donor Advised Gifts and Donor Advised Fund Contributions
- When Charities Aid Foundation America (CAF America) receives a donation, we believe it was the donor’s full intention to support the charitable activities of CAF America.
- All donations to CAF America are made without benefit to the donor. The donor confirms that they will receive no tangible benefit or privilege from either CAF America or any suggested nonprofit in return for their donation.
- Once CAF America has accepted the donation it retains full discretion and control over all donated funds. CAF America retains the right to determine the amount, timing, and purpose of all distributions from the Fund.
- The recommended beneficiary must complete CAF America’s application and due diligence process or be eligible with one of our CAF International Network offices prior to being eligible to receive a grant. If the recommended grantee is already eligible, they must also be in compliance with past grant agreements and have submitted the required grantee reports prior to CAF America distributing another grant.
- DAGs and contributions to DAFs at CAF America are irrevocable and cannot be refunded to the donor. Because CAF America puts donations to work quickly, we do not offer donors refunds on any donations.
- Donors are urged to consider carefully their decision to make a donation. We do not give refunds if the donor changes their mind.
